When this Heer M35 reissue was acquired, it had but one damaged split pin holding the liner in… barely, and that pin didn’t survive the journey to us. Too interesting to leave as a pile of parts, the liner has been refitted with a trio of extremely well matching split pins and washers. Also added, was the buckle side of the chinstrap of the appropriate type for this helmet.
The helmet was a single decal M35 reissue that was later given an over paint in a lumpy, textured camouflage layer. At that point, the Heer decal was painted around. Later still, the Heer decal was removed and based on the patina of the steel in the removal area, it looks period done to further subdue the helmet. The liner is complete, named, and a size 64. Long side of the chin strap is original to the helmet and is slightly shortened.
