Offered is and interesting late war Vesh Meshok, the widely used drawstrink pack.  This example is unssiued, near mint, from stocks, and is dated 44.   It is interesting because it (and several others we go with it) were factory made with no drawstrings.  The top is hemmed over to form the channel for the string, but there is no access to it.  So, a simplified construction.  Once properly tied up at the top with the shoulder strap loop, the drawstring is not needed.
