Just in from one of my contacts in Poland is this nice Officer’s M1935 pattern “Cut-out Star” belt rig has certainly seen much field wear and use. The leather is is good condition overall, only slightly stiff from the lack of use more so than dryness. It is in as found, uncleaned state so all the original mottling an discoloration to the leather remains. It has been worn outdoors for an extended period, noted by the fact that the decorative stitch has faded from its original pale orange to almost white. The star buckle, in heavy brass, has a heavy patina and shows much in the way of hard use. The buckle is solid, but there is evidence of surface cracks in the brass from the buckle possibly being bend and repaired from field wear. The buckle back tab is nicely marked and clearly 1939 dated. Included is the customary cross-shoulder strap with nickel steel buckle and studs. The condition of the shoulder strap matches the belt nicely. Certainly not mint, but field worn for sure. A very interesting officer’s rig.
