Offered is this early liner type Ssh-39 helmet.  This helmet is one of several liner types that could be found in the first year or so of serial production of the Ssh-39.  This is the black, artificial leather type finger liner. This helmet has beautiful shell paint, and a nice LMZ factory stamp.  It is a size 2A and clearly dated 1940.  It has the original chinstrap in the correct configuration for this production model, that being a web strap without the metal termination.  The liner is mostly there, but has been fodder for mice at some point. All the fingers are there, but all have suffered some damage.  In addition, the felt pad layer is completely gone due to moth eating.   A representative example of an early type Ssh-39 with a very presentable exterior.  The liner issues put this one at about half the price of  an undamaged specimen.
