For your consideration is this Ssh-39 helmet with an early liner configuration. This Ssh-39 is well worn, but does retain a reasonable amount of the original, factory applied national star. The shell exterior retains about 50-60% of the original factory green paint and about 75% of the factory applied star remains as well. The interior shows similar wear and paint loss. The LMZ factory stamp has some loss, but the size [2] and date [1940] can be made out. The kirza, finger style liner is intact, showing moderate wear and some mothing to the wool felt pad underneath. The chinstrap is present, and is the correct type for these early Ssh39s. That is it never had a metal termination on the end of the long side of the strap. A hard to find helmet in any condition. This one is well worn, but intact and complete, with the factory applied star
