Offered is this 1939 dated Red Army shelter half/poncho or Plasch-Palatka. This specimen has a very nice factory stamp with a clear 39 date, and the color remains very true to that when it was new. There is very little fading to this Palatka. All the stitched corner “grommets” are intact as is the small hood closure drawstring. The larger, shoulder drawstring is missing on side and it appears that all of the wooden toggles are missing. Still, this remains a great example given the deepness of the remaining color and the prewar date.
