This K98k bayonet is a mismatched blade and scabbard. Blade is a GEBR. HELLER and the scabbard 42ffc marked. The blade is unsharpened with about half of the plum bluing remain with typical runner marks. The top screw and slot washer have been replaced at some point. Looks like and older job and possibly period. There is one shallow dent in the scabbard near the end. Also included is a period leather frog. The frog was originally a cross strap or mounted style, but the small strap has been discarded. There is a faint maker mark that I cannot make out, but it is 1939 dated. The leather is in good condition, but there is a stitch repair to the lower right rivet to secure the corner after the loss of the rivet washer. Not bad for a representative piece or for the reenactor.
