This K98 bayonet frog was in a large auction lot out of Naples, Florida. It has some dryness, but remains pliable enough to take a bayonet scabbard and complete a bayonet. This is an interesting specimen. Dated 1938, this frog has a back spine that was cut for a cavalry type frog, with the cross strap over the handle. However, this strap was never added. This is apparent because the center row of stitch permanently fixes this small strap, it is not free to fall out and become lost. Again, dated 1938 with maker mark that I cannot make out. All the rivets are original. Scuffed and soiled, but an original, veteran bring-back piece.
