Offered is this interesting pair of Imperial German field glasses. These are the standard issue “Model 1908” field glasses. The glasses are in nice condition with very clear optics. Interesting detail is the mismatched eye pieces, one grey and one brown. The focus adjustments are stiff from lack of use, but they do function and would probably free up with a little exercise. There is no neck strap. The case is the lacquered, pressed paper “ersatz” type. The leather trim is dry and worn, and the side closure tabs are damaged. The belt loops are intact and maker marked. The case body is remains strong and is very clean.
