Offered is this mid-war (42 dated) Visor hat for the enlisted man or “other ranks” of the Heer infantry branch.  This hat has a wonderful shape and patina.  There is some typical soiling to the exterior, but the wool and piping are in great condition, as is the green band and metal insignia.  There is some minor separation at the corners of the visor, but things are holding together quite solidly.  The hat is a size 57 and the liner is complete and intact, and has nice even wear with an obvious thumb mark under the visor. The cap is well marked behind the sweatband with a dated maker’s mark and a unit mark for the 101st Infantry Regiment.
